Great care has been taken in the selecting and matching of the drive unit combinations to ensure audiophile performance across the whole frequency spectrum. Particular attention has been given to the characteristics of the bass driver during roll off, an area that is often not prioritised. This attention to what some consider less important, helps to create the silky smooth and detailed midrange and high frequency performance that is a characteristic of all models throughout the range from the diminutive i70 up to the substantial i702. When they tested the i700 in Nov 09 issue ‘What Hifi Sound & Vision’ magazine wrote the following:-
